Asymmetric Organocatalytic Synthesis of gamma-Nitrocarbonyl compounds through Michael and Domino reactions
David Roca-Lopez, David Sadaba, Ignacio Delso, Raquel P. Herrera, Tomás Tejero, Pedro Merino. Asymmetric Organocatalytic Synthesis of gamma-Nitrocarbonyl compounds through Michael and Domino reactions. Tetrahedron: Asymmetry . 2010, Vol. 21/2010, p. 2561-2010.
Recent advances in the organocatalytic enantioselective synthesis of γ-nitrocarbonyl compounds
are surveyed. The two main approaches employed for preparing such compounds consist of
Michael additions of either nitroalkanes to α,β-unsaturated carbonyl derivatives or enolizable
carbonyl compounds to nitroalkenes. Domino processes leading to structurally more complex
products bearing the nitrocarbonyl functionality are also reviewed.
