This specific contract under the framework contract 154208-2014-A08-NL aims at building
more comprehensive datasets on Ad-Valorem Equivalents (AVEs) for non-tariff measures
(NTMs) harming trade between developing countries (South-South trade) and at introducing
new NTMs estimation in global CGE modelling.
Objectives of the Specific Contract
1) Qualitative assessment of existing NTMs in a selected African region.
2) Estimation of bilateral AVEs for particular sectors and country/regions of interest,
estimation of trade elasticities to infrastructure and institutional improvements and
exploration of adaptation of value of time in trade.
3) Concept note on how to model NTMs reduction in a global CGE model in a developing
country context.
4) Support to IPTS staff in simulate scenario of NTMs reduction in a global CGE models for
a selected African region.
